Zakah Calculator
Estimate Zakat with your own verified nisab and explicit asset, jewellery and debt assumptions.
Use this worksheet for an estimate on your Zakat date. Confirm the applicable rules with a qualified adviser, especially for debts, pensions, shares and personally worn jewellery. It does not determine your individual religious obligation.
The calculation uses a 2.5% lunar-year rate. You supply the nisab threshold for the currency and date you are using; prices are not fetched automatically. All fields must use that same currency. Count each asset once, including unspent rental income or business cash already held in a bank account.
For guidance, see Islamic Relief’s calculator and nisab explanation, its debt and pension guidance, and the National Zakat Foundation calculation guide. Their approaches may differ; use guidance appropriate to your circumstances.
This local calculator replaces the calculator on the original Pilarit page. That page also linked to GiveDirectly’s Zakat programme. These are external references; no payment is collected here.
Estimate your Zakat
Enter each amount once, in the same currency, valued on your Zakat date. Blank asset and debt fields count as zero. Use a decimal point or comma and no thousands separators (for example, 1234,50).
Calculation breakdown
- Total entered assets
- Jewellery excluded
- Debt deducted
- Net eligible wealth
- Entered nisab
- Estimated Zakat (2.5%)
Formula: max(0, assets − jewellery exclusion − eligible debts). If the net amount meets the entered nisab and hawl is confirmed, the estimate is 2.5% of the whole net amount, rounded to the nearest cent. Nisab is a threshold, not a deduction.
Your entered amounts are calculated on this device. This calculator does not send or save them.
